In the ever-evolving world of finance, it’s essential to stay on top of the game, and that’s precisely what we’ve done with Stockle. We set out to be the best portfolio & dividend tracker on the market and this update is a one step closer to that goal.

We are excited to introduce a bunch of new features and improvements that will take your portfolio and dividend tracking experience to the next level. From dividend tracking to a sleek new UI, Stockle is more powerful and user-friendly than ever.

But let’s get straight to the point and dive into the details to see how these updates can benefit you as an investor.

It’s fresh, it’s clean and it’s fast — Enhanced UI

A fresh, polished, and intuitive user interface was the goal we set out to achieve, right from the initial MVP. We believe that even though we are dealing with a fintech platform, doesn’t mean it has to follow the software style guide from the 90s.

A well-designed platform that is enjoyable to use can undoubtedly motivate you to become a better investor and further develop your skills. If a platform motivates you to keep up with your investments and the market, it’s definitely worth your while.

In Stockle, we have focused on logically separating all of the data and visuals into different sections.

Instead of spending your time fixing Excel errors, why not concentrate on discovering quality stocks and allow Stockle to manage the tracking for you?

Sleeping and earning income? Dividend Yield and Dividend Yield on Cost (YOC)

Each investor has their unique style and strategy. One common approach among investors is dividend investing. What is more fun than receiving continuous income doing nothing? Nothing we’d say.

To boost the motivation of our dividend investors, we have decided to introduce some new features to track those dividends.

Stockle now provides you with a clear view of your investments’ dividend income. Track dividend yield and Yield on Cost (YOC) for a comprehensive understanding of your dividend income stream. You can track these dividend ratios for a single portfolio or an aggregated total in a overview. In addition you can view the dividend yield and dividend YOC even for a single position or a purchase.

Fools luck or actual skill? — Success Rate

With the success rate feature we aimed to cover the aspect of profitability without the magnitude of the actual profits or losses. It simply describes the ratio between the number of successes and failures.

Can you improve the ratio overtime? As an investor you can always learn and try to do better choices for your investments!

The open positions success rate describes the profitability of the investments you are still holding, while the closed positions rate, on the other hand, refers to the profitability score of your sell transactions — indicating how many of them were sold with a profit.

Markets may be red but your portfolio can be bright — Light Mode

Choose between dark and light mode to customize Stockle to your visual preference. We get it, not everyone has to enjoy the dark colors so here’s a brighter style for you Mr & Ms sunshines.

We like to be lazy — Improved Command Menu

Command menus, those are the future of software. One should not be needing to poke every single view and button in a platform in order to find the correct action. That’s why we designed a new way of navigating in Stockle and managing your investment portfolios.

We’ve revamped the command menu for an even more straightforward and efficient user experience. From switching between portfolios or adding new dividends, purchases and sells, you can find all the actions from a single command menu. Transaction commands are now moved to the upper part of the menu to make it easier you to access them.

Quick tip: You can use key bindings cmd + K or ctrl + K to access the command menu easily from anywhere.

Console.log(“Improved Transaction Log”)

One thing we’ve always thought Stockle should focus on every feature is the attention to details and not keeping any data hidden. If it’s something you can find useful we should show it to you. Therefore we’ve added few more data points to the transactions view.

Dividend log now includes payment date, declaration date and record date in addition to ex-dividend-date. Stockle’s automatic dividend computations calculate how many shares you have held at each dividend date. This enables Stockle to analyse your dividend income historically.

Don’t remember the number of shares you have held when a specific dividend was paid in September 2020? No problem, Stockle will tell you.

If your positions have been effected by splits or reverse splits at some point you’ll find them at the split tab describing you the multiplier, the original share count and the new transformed share count. As stated, if it’s part of your investing journey you are able to view it on Stockle.

What are you holding? Even More Detailed View on Your Positions!

You can now access even more comprehensive data on both your open and closed positions.

The thought process when developing the positions table focused on covering the whole investment period for a single holding or lot. Therefore lumping the data into single profit or loss column is not sufficient. If we are talking about detailed view on investments, we have to dig deeper.

Separating profits into unrealised and total profit/loss columns provides a clearer distinction between profits resulting from price movements and currency fluctuations, as opposed to profits where dividends are factored in.

With our updated layout, we’ve thoughtfully grouped similar fields into the same columns and restructured the order of the columns. This not only enhances the overall readability but also guarantees quick and easy browsing of your investments.

Should I stick to index funds?— Benchmarking Against Any Asset

Select a suitable benchmark for your portfolio and aim to beat the market! Stockle’s dynamic data-driven data model enables you to create portfolios based on strategy, account, goal or any other idea rather than focusing on creating portfolios only by accounts.

Structure your investments into for example a dividend portfolio, a tech portfolio and a retirement portfolio and track each separately or all combined. You can benchmark your time-weighted return with or without dividend returns included. Be creative and beat the market!

Let’s put an end to that clicking of the mouse— Bulk Delete & Bulk Create

Managing your portfolio history and transactions is now made easier with the ability to delete multiple purchases, dividends and sells at once. Keep your data clean and organised effortlessly.

In addition, you can now create purchases and sells for multiple tickers simultaneously, fastening your data entry process. This feature saves you time and effort, let’s be honest typing numbers isn’t the most exciting thing in portfolio & dividend tracking.

We made it easy for you — Improved Automatic Dividends

Stockle’s automatic dividend tracking is now more accurate on handling different changes in your portfolios, ensuring you never miss out on your dividends. Check your paid and upcoming dividends and dividends for a purchase, position, portfolio or aggregated total. See your dividends growth and paid dividends annually, quarterly, monthly and daily. Positions table also includes the trailing twelve months dividends you have received in total or per share.

Exploring new countries! More Currency Options

Stockle now supports an even broader range of currencies, making it ideal for investors from around the world. Remember that you can also utilise the automatic currency rates when adding new dividends or transactions! Exchange rates play an important role when analysing your dividend income, performance and profits so make sure you keep track of those currency rates.
